Open Access

The editorial team of the Journal of Central Asian Studies adheres to the latest guidelines on transparency and best practices in open access publishing. The journal regularly consults the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (Version 4.0; September 15, 2022) to update its website and editorial policies. 

This journal operates on an open access model, meaning there are no processing or publication fees for authors. All published articles are freely accessible to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search for, link to, or use for any lawful purpose without needing prior permission from the publisher or the authors. 

The journal adheres to the following key open-access principles:

• Budapest Open Access Initiative
• Berlin Declaration of Open Access

In 2016, the journal transitioned to a complete open access model by publishing full-text articles on its website. To enhance accessibility and transparency, as well as to facilitate easier access to research, the journal has made all its archival issues publicly available.
