About the Journal

Aim of the Journal 

The Journal of Central Asian Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access publication released quarterly (in March, June, September, and December). The journal aims to support emerging researchers by providing a comprehensive platform for the study of international relations of Central Asia and CIS countries, including geopolitical, economic, social, cultural, and other aspects with foreign partners.

Scope of the Journal:

  • International Relations of Central Asia and CIS countries;
  • International Security and Cooperation in the Region;
  • Domestic Politics of Central Asia & CIS: Social, Economic, Environmental, and Cultural Aspects of Development.

History of the Journal 

The Journal of Central Asian Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal published in English by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It has been in circulation since March 2003. 

Indexing 

The Journal of Central Asian Studies is indexed in the Kazakhstan Citation Database, Google Scholar, Index Copernicus, Scilit, and List of Publications Recommended by the Science and Higher Education Quality Assurance Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Certificate of Registration

The journal was re-registered by the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan on February 23, 2024, with Registration Certificate No. KZ72VPY00088070. The initial registration of the journal was completed on January 24, 2003, with Registration Certificate No. 3529-zh.
