The article examines the political and economic processes in the Central Asian republics in 2020 amid the spread of the Covid-19 virus infection and the global crisis caused by the pandemic. The author examines the reaction of the governments of the countries of the region to the emerging global challenges, as well as the measures taken by them. An analysis of the implications of force majeure on the political, financial and socio-economic development of the states of the region is also given.
